Kite
High performance 5 strut freeride kite
Designers goals
With a new perspective on superior performance, the Airush design team set out to create a kite that excites and inspires. Intergrating improved parked power, better relaunch and faster turning speed, the foundation of a great kite was built upon to create an exceptional riding machine.
Massive lift and increased hangtime contribute to the superior feel of the Varial, while the enhanced jumping features and ACTive Engineering, the most stable and forgiving platform available, allows the rider to focus on their riding rather than the kite. With the confidence that comes with extraordinary design, the 2011 Varial takes the rider beyond limits and to new heights, each and every time.

Conclusion
The Airush Varial is designed to have a large range. So we tested the Varial in various conditions from 13 to 22 kts. The first session was with wind below 16 kts, the 10M Varial was easy to ride but did not display any notable characteristics. During the second session there was more wind (18+ kts) and that is where the Varial started to perform. The turning circle got quicker, there was more lift and it offered an enormous glide-phase. Where ever the Varial was in the wind-window, it gave plenty of feedback. In these conditions the Varial made jumping very easy by offering sheet-and-go. The loops were not too fast and the feedback in the loops was good.
In short, in its low-end the Varial is a good kite for beginners. Stable, gradual power buildup and with its total depower quite safe.
If you are more experienced, the Varial will give you a great session in conditions above 18 kts. The sheet-and-go makes this a kite which is highly recommended to the big-air specialists out there.
