Kite Preview

4 strut SLE C-kite

Designers goals

Incredible hooked and unhooked Freestyle and Surf Performance! The 4 strut Razor offers riders explosive power, ultra aggressive feel and the most power per square meter of any kite in our line up. The Razor sits deep for continued pull through transitions and down wind, built for twin tip riders who like to ride lit up and surfers who like to charge the line hooked in. FST Wingtip Technology adds even better bar feedback, steering control and wind range to this year's Razor. All 2012 kites fly perfectly with any of our 3 bars, Freeride, Fusion or Freestyle and all kites feature our unique Direct De-power System, designed to fully roll over and disable your kite in the event of an eject or total depower.

Features

Wingtip technology

You need a big wide wing tip for faster turning.
Its all about leverage between your front and back lines. By extending the wingtip forward we’ve created the extra leverage necessary to snap the kite through a turn.
De-power
By moving the front line attachment forward we offer you more range and depower.
Relaunch
FST wingtip breaks the surface tension during water relaunch providing a smooth predictable lift off.

Direct depower:

Designed to fully roll over and disable your kite in the event of an eject or total depower. The Direct De-power System allows for near total depower of your kite and easy, on water reset and relaunch in the event of an eject. Ideal for riders of all levels, beginner to pro.

Venturi Technology:

Translates to bigger, more floaty boosts and a more forgiving, efficient kite that generates even more power. Back flying in light, gusty wind is a thing of the past, and experts can unhook without having to depower the kite first!

Comments:
The 2012 Razor is an explosive and fast steering kite. The kite delivers constant power and remains very steady in the wind window. The kite gives an explosive lift and a very hard pull during kite loops. The barpressure is light but still gives enough feedback on the kite. This is partly due to the FST wingtips. This provides maximum turning leverage and efficient depower. Another advantage of the FST is the relaunch. The kite is very suitable for wave riders, this is because the kite drifts very good. It is therefore not surprising that this kite remains super steady when doing unhooked tricks. Each kite suffers from back stall, but if you can let the 2012 Razor stall you are doing something wrong!

The 2012 Razor is a kite for advanced wave riders and freestylers but also an excellent option for the novice kite surfers!

Does it backstall à lot?

Not at all! The 2012 Razor remains very stable in the air!

What about low-end of this C-kite? 77 kg and 14 knots, can I go and do my tricks? Or do I need a 12m?

I can stay upwind in 15 knots with my twintip and 10m Razor. I weigh about 75kg!
