Dedicated wave kite
Designers goals (manufacturer text)
The Wave has been extremely successful in its first year, with a massive following of dedicated surf riders. The Wave has the most unique shape on the market, with a thin LE for immense forward speed as well as a lightweight 3 strut design for drifting capabilities. The kite responds to what you need when you need it the most.
Adjustments in the wingtips and canopy layout make for a smooth power delivery. Fluid steering makes for a consistent feel across the range. The new sizes offer increased options for higher wind riding without.
For the most dedicated and natural surf kite on the market, the Airush Wave ticks all the boxes.
The Wave works best with the Smartbar 5 or Analog Bar.

The kite builds up pressure gradually when you put in a steering impulse make a loop.
resume: A solid kite with (when set on medium) quite a lot bar pressure. (it behaves much friendlier when set on light steering) The kite doesn't ride upwind very easy, but handles really well when ridden on speed.

The kite handled well while all other kite boarders were out with 4,5 and 6 m2.
When the wind increased the kite lost his shape a started to collapse. The Leading Edge caught wind from the backside and pushed the kite halfway inside out. The kite was fully inflated with maximum pressure so that's not the problem.
It seemed that the wind might get some grip on the backside of the kite because the leading edge is pulled down a bit too much.
This was a very dangerous situation with wind increasing to 35/39 knots. The release worked at the 3rd attempt which was also a unpleasant experience.
Resume: A playful kite which felt stable and solid, though surprised me fully when conditions were too though!

Its compact shape makes the wind-range a bit smaller (around 16 knots and 5'10 enough to stay up wind).
Pros
- lots of feedback
- fast steering everywhere in the wind window
- fast relaunch
Cons
- long bridles & straight up tips. Bridle can cash the tip.
- less stability on 12 O'clock
