Conclusion
We were surprised by the great low end of the Kahoona. We tested this kite next to the Best TS 2015 9m. The Kahoona 8.5m had the better low end, is also more forgiven and had a great relaunch. All characteristics for starters and intermediate riders. The Kahoona is a sheet and go kite, more than the Best TS who has more performance in lift and pop.
Try the Kahoona if you like a basic, easy to ride kite. If you like more performance go for the Best TS.

Try the safety first before you go out. It need a bit practise to reassemble the safety

Stable in wind window, if you have too much tension on the steering lines, the Kahoona can back stall (kite falls backwards)
Total depower
total depower, more wind = longer depower stroke
Windrange
Good low end for a 8.5m kite. Great for 3 or 4 bft and a big board
Kite re-launch
Great! Very easy relaunch, also in light winds
Oldskool
Lift
gradual and safe power control
High-end
Low-end
Wave
Reaction to steering action
direct and short turning circle
Feedback at edge of wind window
Great feedback, always bar pressure. possible backstall (kite falls backwards) if too much power on steering lines

center turning kite

Relaunch is awesome, when you need to get it up quick before a wave smashes it, this is the kite to have.
Noticed the canopy holds shape, does not flutter much, even riding depowered near top of its range. When you sheet way out while also depowered, it will flutter, but that's true for any kite with total depower. This is an area that has definitely been improved and I like for maintaining good control and good feel in the upper wind range.
Durability of last year with a lot of use was good for me, this 2015 kite only four sessions on it so cant really comment other than the kite looking more well made than ever, especially the trailing edge with the mark cloth material added between the canopy and dacron for a less sudden change in stiffness.
Overall excellent freeride boosting kite and wave kite.
I have tried some three strut kites and felt that they were not as rigid or as wide a range, so I've stuck with the Kahoona.
2015 10.5m Kahoona has a HUGE usable windrange.
from 12 knots on a surfboard, 15-25 for regular twintip riding all the way up to 29 with a small grippy twin.
