Rider Profile

Freerider, hangtime kite for all kind of conditions

Designers goals (manufacturer text)

For pure adrenaline pumping hangtime. A kite that delivers ridiculous whoo-hoos in any conditions. A kite that always has your back. From freeriding to surf the 4th generation XR delivers control in the gusts and power in the lulls. Your ticket to relaxed cruising, explosive boosts or sublime wave riding. Experience for yourself the XR’s chameleon like ability to transform to any style or riding level.
The XR4 distinguishes itself from the prior model with the first ever use of CORE ExoTex® Dacron. ExoTex is made in Germany by Dimension Polyant, the world leader in yacht sail design and manufacturing. The new fabric features an asymmetrical weave which increases dimensional stability without adding additional weight. It allows CORE to improve airflow by reducing the leading edge and strut diameters. Despite reducing all five strut diameters the new ExoTex Dacron improved kite stiffness and flight characteristics. The XR4 is more stable, can point higher and go bigger.

Conclusion kitetest Core XR4

The kite design of Core kiteboarding is always great. Durable, strong & innovative! The kite feel is amazing for the big air floaty jumps. It's reliable in a wide wind window! Can be used in various line setups (short & long), that gives the XR4 even more usability! Starters will love the soft power and great kite feedback. It will give them confidence and a wide windrange.
A one kite owner will love the user range of the XR4!
Again well done, great compilation of kite characteristics that match a wide group of kitesurfers.

Amazing jumping kite. Anytime I'm looking to boost big I take the Core Riot. My highest so far recorded with the WOO is 36.8'. Super light bar pressure and a really nice kite to ride. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for an all around or jumping kite. I've tried riding waves with it and it does a really poor job at that. The Core section would be the ideal kite for that.

Wow! Wow, this is a great big air kite for all day riders. I had one session in around 20 knots. And what a great fun. This kite feels solid, clean sheet & go, easy to handle and pretty soft power building with an amazing float performance.
This Core kite will increase your hang time with seconds. I was amazed by the clean airflow of the new XR4. I still can figure it out how they did it and ... it doesn't matter. With the new XR4 10m I don't want to think ... I just want to play & feel!

As the description of the manufacturer says: 'this kite will have your back'. And that's exactly true. At every moment you can steer the kite, loop it, or just wait and pull the bar to ensure a soft landing. The XR4 has a strong wing-like shape and you really feel this on the bar. No need for strong sinus movements, this will disrupt its flying ability, so let the kite fly and be gentle in steering when underpowered. Its upwind ability is amazing and when flown properly the XR4 will seek the edge of the wind window and generates its own power in the very far corner.

Oldskool jumps are accessible to anyone now cause the kite will slowly lift you up and keep you at your highest level for a while so you feel confident to try board offs and you'll have plenty of time to prepare the landing.
During two sessions I flew the kite on short lines, long lines, underpowered and overpowered, and for me me the XR4 really brought 'freeriding' to a new level. I felt comfortable to loop the kite anywhere and everywhere 'cause it won't surprise you, nor gives you a hard punch.

resume:
a great stable kite, that is very controllable in overpowered conditions. great upwind ability and an easy big air machine for those who want to ensure a smooth flight and a soft landing.
