Compared to the 7th Gen the 8th Gen is more stable in the air that is an advantage in gusty conditions and more efficient. The new valve makes inflating and deflating very comfortable.

My first remark will be about the new fat inflate valve (same than liquid force). This is just a amazing pleasure and once you have pump 2 times with this valve it's impossible to turn back to old system! As far as you are able to not loose the adapter.
About flying skill 2016 trigger stay in the feeling of 2015 Blade trigger which is perfect for an all around kite freeride, freestyle unhooked and wave with the wave setting bridle.
2016 trigger has a better high wind range than the 2015. Jump hangtime on the 10m is very good for oldschool.
If you try it in wave strapless, trigger is amazing and very reactive. with the wave setting you have a better drift. only tiny problem is that it's pulling too strong when you change side passing the kite via Zenith. then with strapless you can feel you are lifted. Problem which doesn't exist on the Blade Skinny Boy :).
