Big air / all-round riders

Designers Goals (manufacturer text)

If ever there was a kite that needs no introduction it is the Rebel, one of the most popular kites of all time; it is the choice of ambitious freeriders and kiters who like to boost huge airs. It’s perfect for experienced riders and experts alike, offering excellent performance for hooked in cruising and lots of hangtime. For the first time in the Rebel’s history, it can now be flown on 4 or 5 lines. The 5th line is unloaded for 2018, meaning you can decide the best setup depending on your preference and riding style. The turning speed has been enhanced, in combination with a smoother and rounder turning. The wind range has increased. While many changes have been made, one aspect has remained constant; the Rebel is still the ultimate boosting machine offering huge jumps with lots of hangtime and glide in the air! All that with the typical Rebel feel you love so much!

Had a great session with the Rebel. +20 knots with the 11m and can't wait to get the Rebel in 25 knots of wind. This is a real floater, totally different feel than the 2017 model. Feels a bit like other wide wing delta shapes. Strong feedback on the bar, great float, direct power de-power control and a sheet & go feel. The Rebel likes upwind tacks, just place the kite low in the wind window and up you go. My favoriet Rebel hangtime machine was the 2016 Rebel serie. That was the most tuned Rebel I ever rode. This one is more Delta, more All-round, more adjust to a wider public. North listening too the public, well done. Hardcore Rebel riders, the 12m from the 2016 series is the PRIME.

Just had a ride with the new 11m North Rebel 2018. Had a 27m line bar (2017) and a hydrofoil. I know it's a kite for high end winds, big boost and floaty jumps. Still, liked to find out about you can hydrofoil in very light winds with the new Rebel. Yes, you can! Stability stays great, the Rebel hasn't a lot of grunt so you have to steer the kite a bit more. Critical situations in low edges of the wind window are no problem. Downloop or walk/swim upwind. The relaunch is only possible on the old school way. Swim towards the kite! Would it be my first choice for hydrofoiling? No, but if you are a big air kind of rider with a intension to foil in light winds. The Rebel will deliver!

The 2018 Rebel overdelivers. It really got better on every aspect:

- Faster turning
- Higher jumping
- More float
- Easier to ride
- Better kiteloops

I tried the 7, 9 and 12 Rebel. Normally i ride 7, 9 Vegas and 12 Rebel. This year i chose the 7, 9 and 12 Rebel because i like boosting and looping. For me, this was a very good choice. The Rebel 2018 made my life so much easier now! I am very impressed!

Besides that, the new freeride bar (for riders like me, i never unhook) is great! Much more depower because of the small chicken loop and you are standing in a more natural stance, even when overpowered.
