Designers goals (manufacturer text)

Are you ready for the EVOlution? The best all-round kite on the market, now in a three strut format! The EVO is a hugely popular kite for North Kiteboarding, with exceptional hangtime and huge boosting capabilities. For 2018 the EVO was completely redesigned, taking the great DNA from the previous models and using all our knowledge to create a truly fantastic delta shaped kite. The goal was to keep the incredible upwind performance and huge jumps with floaty hangtime, but also to make it easier to fly. Removing two of the struts took some of the stiffness out of the canopy and improved the handling of the kite. It also reduced the bar pressure which makes it an easier and less demanding kite to fly. With easy sheet and go handling, and incredible relaunch, huge hangtime and blistering performance is within easy reach for every kiter out there. The EVO is also exceedingly versatile, so if you are looking for a kite that can boost to the moon, handle the latest freestyle tricks and tow you into some amazing waves, the EVO is it!

Intermediate kiter here...toeside and 15 ft jumps (so far). Have flown Evos for 7 years and wanted to replace my 2011 9m, which is still going strong, with a new kite. I was worried that the feedback and bar pressure would be soft due to the change to 3 struts from 5, but not to worry. While the bar pressure is not as grunty as the old 2011 or a 12m 2016 Evo I fly, it still has a great feel. Smoother through the gusts, and noticeably quicker turning. Novice jumper, but I barely have to move the kite before sheeting in to launch myself plenty high. I suspect in the hands of a more experienced jumper it would explode. Very happy!

Comments:
The 2018 evo is a bit faster than the 2017 model and it has a bit more of a softer feeling. But not the soft as in lack of power, but more easy going while kiting. The lift is good but not explosive like the 2015 and 2016 models. The feedback is great, with the new 2018 Evo you really have the ultimate Evo experience. Its really comfortable to ride and because of the bar pressure you can really feel the kite at any position in the wind window. The semi long sweet spot makes the timing for a jump or trick pretty easy. Pop is a bit better than the 2017 Evo, it loads up pretty nice for a delta/hybrid shape kite and gives you enough slack to do some freestyle tricks. This is gonne be my kite for the next season. a very nice balanced kite suitable for all conditions.

I tried the kite at the spot workum with choppy water and gusty conditions real stable kite but a bit to much bar pressure when overpowered. Great lift and smooth landings. I prefer the dice because it is a lot faster and softer with bar pressure.

Comments:
Tried the new Evo 10m on the Hydrofoil in gusty lake condition. It surprised me. Didn't foil with the previous North Evo kite because the drift and power control was just not the right feel. No it is! Drift is much better and the best part is that the new Evo keeps its pressure while turning underpowered. It drift so fast that downwind hydrofoil tacks are no problem. So the new Evo has a new kitefeel and for the Hydrofoil it's a real improvement.
