Completely redesigned and reinvented from scratch, the Duotone Mono is light, simple and devastatingly good. It´s a fantastic all-rounder that features just one strut and incredible handling for entry-level, foiling and twintips! If you want a pure, lightweight, do-it-all kite, the Mono is it. This season the whole concept has been questioned and all sizes have been completely redesigned by Ken Winner. Low end and especially high end have significantly been improved and flutter nearly eliminated. With just one strut and very dynamic handling it is sure to excite and the benchmark in one strut kites. In light winds the performance is incredible, not only can the kite fly in the slightest of breezes, but it is also very easy to relaunch too.

Rode the Duotone Mono with a hydrofoil. Duotone redesigned the Mono and you really can, see and feel it. Less Dacron and the new shape has a lower aspect ratio than the older 2018 Mono. First thought, I know that shape from the early days. Less power, less windrange. But don't judge a book by its cover. The Mono has a wider windrange, was more explosive and more stable than I thought. The Mono has a fast reaction, with a bit jaggy turn. I believe the new profile with a deep swept away wingtip gives the kite a bit square turning. A problem? I liked it on the foil. During the gypes the Mono kept its pressure in kite and gave it a solid barfeel. Normally I ride the Evo, the biggest differences I felt between 2019 Evo and 2019 Mono is the higher bar pressure and the shorter power/depower range of the Mono.
